How is your mental health and well-being?

Healthwatch North Yorkshire is working with the North Yorkshire & York Leadership Alliance Board to understand what helps people’s mental health and wellbeing and how mental health services are being used by local people.

This project was commissioned by North Yorkshire & York Leadership Alliance Board, which includes partners such as Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation TrustNorth Yorkshire County Council and Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership.

We have been working together to understand what helps people’s mental health and wellbeing and how mental health services are being used by local people. Your feedback will help to ensure services work for everyone.

And as part of the project, we also wanted to organise some focused discussions with particular groups of people including:

  • Members of the farming community
  • People who have served in the British Armed Forces or are veterans
  • Young people transitioning to adult services
  • People who are neuro diverse
  • People living in temporary accommodation
  • Older people living alone
  • Carers

We worked with others to hear from more than 340 people about their experiences of accessing mental health and wellbeing services across the county, but not including Craven, where mental health services are delivered by another provider - West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership.

The experiences we heard were mainly from adults who are experiencing/or who have experienced mental health and wellbeing issues.

Our report wil be launched in July 2023
