Contact Healthwatch using British Sign Language
If you are happy using online forms, there is a form you can use to tell us your experience. Or use our general contact form for other enquiries.
But you can also arrange a free British Sign Language video call. The service is available 08:30 – 17:30, Monday to Friday.
Talk to Healthwatch using British Sign Language
Healthwatch uses a service called SignLive. SignLive gives you an interpreter so you can leave your feedback and share your health or social care story (or that of someone you care for) using sign language. You can use it on your smartphone, tablet or computer.
This service helps you share feedback in British Sign Language, rather than having a live conversation with Healthwatch.
How it works
When someone uses the SignLive service, they select the Healthwatch option. They do not speak to Healthwatch live. Instead, a British Sign Language interpreter supports them to leave their feedback by taking them through Healthwatch England’s standard feedback form (https://www.healthwatch.co.uk/have-your-say), completing it based on their answers, and submitting it on their behalf.
This feedback is included alongside Healthwatch England’s usual data. If something relates to North Yorkshire, and the person agrees, it will be shared with Healthwatch North Yorkshire.
How to use SignLive for the first time
- Download the SignLive app from the App Store or Google Play. Or visit www.signlive.co.uk/login on a computer.
- Sign up for an account. You only need to do this once.
- Look for 'Healthwatch’ in the community directory.
- Calling us through SignLive's community directory is free.
- If you have a technical problem with SignLive, email hello@signlive.co.uk.
