Helen Littler
Community Engagement and Projects
Helen provides essential support to the day to day running of Healthwatch North Yorkshire.
Her role includes managing enquiries from the public, providing information about local services and helping people find the right place for support. Helen also supports the organisation’s administration and financial processes, helping manage finance and ensuring the team runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Helen has a background in public health, which supports her work in understanding how people’s experiences, inequalities and wider social factors influence health and care. She also supports projects and volunteer activities, including leading the organisation and attendance of events and contact points at hospitals and libraries where people can speak to Healthwatch about their experiences.
Helen also takes part in Enter and View visits to local care homes. These visits help gather feedback about areas such as mealtimes, activities for residents, and how information is shared, helping services understand where improvements may be needed.
She leads several research projects, including Mind the Mum, which explored women’s experiences of postnatal care, and ongoing work looking at alcohol and midlife women’s health in North Yorkshire.
