Who Healthwatch is
Healthwatch North Yorkshire is an independent organisation dedicated to ensuring your voice is heard by those who provide, fund, and organise healthcare services across the county. Whether it's GPs, hospitals, dentists, care homes, or pharmacies, we gather feedback from people like you to help improve the standards of care. We also provide reliable information to help you navigate health services.
What you can expect
Join us as we share the impact of our work with communities across North Yorkshire. The session will begin with a welcome and introduction, followed by an overview of our wider impact. We’ll then focus on the difference we’ve made in farming communities and in mental health. After this, we will introduce Enter & View — our statutory power that allows trained volunteers to visit health and care services, observe care being delivered, and gather feedback from staff, residents, and families. We’ll explain why this is important and highlight the vital role played by our volunteers. To conclude, we’ll hear a response from a care home and finish with some closing reflections.

- Members of the public
- Voluntary and community organisations, social enterprises and charities
- Managers and staff across NHS health and social care
- People caring for loved ones (unpaid carers)
