Young people's mental health support over the summer

We recently completed a project that focused on young people's mental health and well-being. As a result, we published a report exploring the mental health and well-being challenges young people (aged 16-24) have faced or are facing.

In May we published a report which outlined mental health and well-being challenges young people (aged 16-24) have faced or are facing, where they turn for support if they do, and how they find the support offered, as well as what is missing in the existing support.

In this project, we found a gap in support during the summer holidays that need to be addressed.

Due to this work, we are doing some research to find out what supports or could support, young people across North Yorkshire during the summer period.

It should take approximately 5 minutes to complete the survey, and there is also the opportunity to describe what support has helped over the summer by answering the question: “What “picture” would you use to describe your summer?”. You can respond to this in a creative way. For example, by recording a video clip, recording a voice message, taking a picture, or completing a drawing.

All answers will be anonymous, and we request that people only share what they are comfortable with.

If you feel you need some help to support your mental well-being, visit Healthwatch North Yorkshire’s website to find details of organisations and online resources, or get in touch with us.

Are you aged 16-24 and living in North Yorkshire? If so, Healthwatch North Yorkshire want to know what supports or could support, your mental health and well-being over the summer period.

Have your say by completing our anonymous survey. If you have any questions, or need further support please get in touch.

This survey will close at the end of September 2022.
