West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership – Joint Forward Plan

Public survey open until Monday 20 February 2023

This survey gives people in West Yorkshire (and Craven in North Yorkshire) an opportunity to comment on the development of a regional plan to deliver more joined-up, preventative, and person-centered care for people and communities.

What does this mean? What is the Joint Forward Plan?

The Joint Forward Plan is a five-year plan which will outline how the partnership will deliver their strategy to improve health and care across West Yorkshire.

A summary is available in Easy Read here.

Background to the strategy

The Health and Care Act 2022 requires each health and care partnership to produce a strategy setting out the vision for services across the Integrated Care System (ICS); including how commissioners in the NHS and local authorities can deliver more joined-up, preventative, and person-centered care for people and communities.

The NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is responsible for the development of the West Yorkshire Joint Forward Plan that will deliver the NHS components of the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Strategy.

How are Healthwatch North Yorkshire involved?

We are supporting this work by promoting the involvement with local people and partners.

As Craven's NHS services are commissioned and delivered by West Yorkshire, we have been asked to share the survey with you so that you can take part.

I don't live in Craven - can I still have my say?

Yes, of course. Please share your views and health and social care experiences (or those of your family, friends and loved ones). NHS and social care staff are doing everything they can during these challenging times, but there might be things that can be improved. Your feedback can help services spot issues that are affecting care for you and your loved ones.

Who will West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership speak with?

Over the next few weeks they will be speaking to partners and the public about their plan. This includes services that deliver health and care, the third sector (charities and volunteer groups) and people from across diverse communities.

What and how will they ask?

They will ask people to read their draft strategy and ask for feedback on how they think we should deliver our ambitions to improve health and care. People will be able to share their views using a survey and at events across the region.

What will they do?

They will use your feedback to shape our plans for the next five years. We will update our website so that you can see how your comments have influenced our plan. A report will also be published in June 2023.
