New plan launched to improve health and social care services

Book onto a local event near you

Autistic people have spoken about concern over waiting times in accessing diagnosis and about the importance of being supported by autism inclusive health and social care services to help improve their lives.

Autism is a developmental disability which affects how people perceive the world, communicate, and interact with others.

In addition to concerns over waiting times for autism assessments, people have been telling us about a "lack of support" during and after the process.

A plan has been put together to include what things are important to autistic people in making their lives better. These include diagnosis and support, healthcare, education, housing and employment.

You’re invited to have your say on this draft autism plan (also known as a strategy). It is open to people of all ages. Your voice and those you support is important to making sure it echoes the needs of autistic people living in North Yorkshire.

The plan has been developed by autistic people, their carers and families, alongside charities, volunteers, North Yorkshire Council, NHS health services, North Yorkshire Police, and probation, education and employment organisations. And Healthwatch North Yorkshire.
